About

The very first novel I read was Little Joe Otter by Thornton W. Burgess. Oh, how I fell in love with that little guy! From that point on, I dreamed of befriending an otter.

Or a seal.

Or a horse, or a bear, or an owl.

That book was written in 1925 —way before I was born!— but I was hooked. Stories about animals, nature and wildlife continue to capture my attention, whether I'm reading them or writing them.

In July 2017, I earned my MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Before I began writing novels, I wrote stories in children's multimedia. As a senior producer, I also directed product development, overseeing the work of artists and programmers, while interfacing with amazing clients such as Sesame Workshop and Discovery Channel. Me and my dog Kobe, when he still walked by my side. Now he's left for the "great beyond." But I bet he's still chasing squirrels—wherever he is!
